And He blesses us even more...

It has been the longest 9 months. She's finally here! Our little family is growing!

Our daughter, Caitlin Nicole, was born on the 4th of June 2015 at 4:08PM. I feel so blessed to be given another precious gift. She's everything I've dreamed of and more! She's so beautiful just like her big sister.  And what's crazy amazing was that they measure and weigh the same!

My birth experience with Cait was a whole lot better than my first experience. Mainly because I knew what to expect, and that the pushing part took only 30 minutes (versus the three-hour pushing with my first pregnancy). And recovery was quite fast as well. :)

Mark and I are very happy to have Chlo and Cait. Our hearts are filled with joy, and we're thankful to our family and friends who prayed for us and wished us well. We're still getting the hang of taking care of  two beautiful girls, so forgive me if it's been a while since I last posted here. I promise blog more soon. :)

Chlo's Snow White 2nd Birthday Fairy Tale

HOW THE PARTY CAME TO BE

For the party's theme, I got the inspiration from Chlo's first halloween costume two years ago when we dressed her up as Snow White. The look and the colors just looks amazing on her. And I just love how  Snow White is timeless. I didn't want to just go for the usual Frozen or any recent disney princess theme party. I wanted to be different and classic. And just look at how beautiful she is on that Snow White dress on her first halloween... :)

A big plus in going for this theme are the colors red, blue and yellow for the party's look. I knew I have tons of yellow decorations and materials from her Bumble Bee Party from her first birthday last year. So all I need to get are a few red and blue decorations :)

Since we recently just moved here in Illinois, Mark and I planned to have just a small and simple party here in our new home, with close family and friends. We also thought that I'll be far off my third trimester by the time of Chlo's birthday so we decided to celebrate it a week early.

The preparation wasn't as stressful as with her first birthday. I started with the party invites and found this simple yet elegant Snow White birthday invitation at Etsy by Let's Print Party. :) I think I got a little carried away by the theme with the way I made the content of the invites.. :)
And I also get to use the invite template to make printable displays for the cake and dessert spread. :)
PARTY LOOK & DIY DECORS

Most of the decorations are DIY :) I know, I know. I promised my husband and told myself I wouldn't go all out with the decorations, thinking that I would be too pregnant to do so, and that this time, this party will be low key. I kept saying that as I come up with idea after idea for the party. Haha! Once I started, I just couldn't stop! But the thing is, it just looks like I put a lot of effort to achieve the look, when in fact, it is quite simple really. :)

For the backdrop, I got some red crepe paper streamer that I had Mark taped to our ceiling. I then twisted it several times too have that spiral look and voila! A nice, red backdrop for my dessert and food spread. :) The table cloths, ribbons, party favor bags were all from the dollar store :) The centerpiece spelling Chlo's name was from her birthday last year. The only ones I got from  Party City were the red, blue, and yellow pompoms hanging from the ceiling.

PARTY FAVORS

For the party favors, I found these elegant mirrors from the dollars store and thought they were perfect for the theme! The yellow bags were also from the same store and I used the left over red crepe paper streamer to tie bows on the center and used blue wrapping paper to stick with Snow White's dress theme. The bag contains mini chalk board, pencils, and notepads, and chocolates.

DESSERT TABLE

I didn't want to spend a lot in decorating the dessert spread. For the centerpiece, I used the letters spelling Chloe's name that was also used last year on her first birthday. It was painted yellow but I wrapped it with the yellow crepe paper streamer (that were also left overs from her last party) to give it a facelift. I thought of serving desserts that were also in the red, blue and yellow colors. I made blueberry cheesecake cups, my yema cupcake bites(which is always a hit :), and ordered a fondant cake inspired by Snow White's dress. The cake that I ordered was ube macapuno from tita Anna who was referred to me by my friend. And I have to say, this cake is the cheapest fondant cake I ever bought considering how good it looked, and the most delicious ube macapuno cake I've ever had! Ever! Seriously! Way, way better than the ones from Goldilocks and Red Ribbon!

The table was covered with yellow and blue disposable tablecloths designed with red ribbons to resemble Snow White's dress. I displayed the mirror favors on the table along with a few of the favor bags. The other end is where I placed the apple juice, labeled as "non poisoned apple juice," with the mason jars on the side. I also placed three red apples on the table to stick with the theme. The food labels that I used were free printables that I got from Pinterest. :)

FOOD SPREAD

The party's food spread consisted of my Mama's specialties with a few of mine. :) Yes, we did all the cooking and I am very grateful to my mom for everything. The food included fresh lumpia, pork lumpiang shanghai, my mom's specialties which are pork hamonado, beef with oyster sauce and white pancit,  baked macaroni, and baked salmon. It's a feast! And everyone loved the food! :)

HERE'S MY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!

I still can't believe she's already two! And she continue to amaze us with everything she says and does. I never imagined how perfect she would be and I am very grateful to Lord for giving us a wonderful daughter. We are so blessed! :)

It was a day full of fun and laughter and tons of good food! Thank you everyone  for celebrating our Chloe's second birthday with us! :) Here's the rest of the photos from Chloe's second birthday fairy tale. :)
